Can you Believe It's Already Fall?!

It looks like we got lucky with a mild summer and for the most part, regular rains. Lawns look pretty good overall, but there are always a couple trouble spots and now is the time to tackle these.  Thin and bare areas due to shade or traffic - or whatever - should be seeded now.  If you haven't received recommendations from your Route Manager, call today so we don't miss the seeding window for your lawn.  Nobody can predict the future, but once the soil is too cold, we will have to postpone the seeding.  Normally, that date is October 15th, but who knows this year!

I hope this finds everyone healthy and happy. I know fall is my favorite time of year.

Care for Your New Seed

Check out the Library section of our new website for instructions on how to care for your new seed.

Have you heard this one?

A lady walks into a boutique and asks the sales lady, "May I try on that cute dress in the window?"

The sales lady replies, "Sure, but wouldn't you be more comfortable in a dressing room?

Yellow Oak Trees

It seems like I have seen more oak trees than usual this year suffering from Iron Chlorosis. This will lead to the death of the tree over several years, so don't avoid doing something about it.  Fall is the best time to treat this nutrient problem.  Learn more in the Library.

We've had a couple of interesting calls recently where people want to give lawn care as a holiday gift. If this unique gift idea intrigues  you, give us a call!

Aeration Time

Annual aeration of the lawn is one of the best things you can do to relieve compaction of our "crappy" clay soil and help control thatch.  If you haven't aerated for a few years, now until the ground freezes is a good time to get it done.  Call to schedule your aeration and save yourself a trip to the chiropractor from doing it yourself!
